Food Buddy Program
What is a Food Buddy?
Our Food Buddy Program gives supporters a way to donate food and various non-food items (toothpaste, etc.) monthly to help people who cannot afford to buy the supplies themselves. The food items donated add nutrition and flavor to their meals. We pack these items along with hundreds of protein-fortified rice meals in the boxes we send. These items are usually sent to Father Angel to help 70 (specially chosen by Father) parishioners who are destitute and others who are trying hard to study and lift their families out of poverty. Most of the recipients of these food items are children. There are a few elderly recipients, older students, and religious men either in the Seminary or Priests.
What items are needed?
More Food Buddies are needed as the demand is just incredible. Joining the Food Buddy Program is a great activity to do with your kids or grandkids; way to get students (or even whole schools) involved in an ongoing mission (rather than once or twice a year); way to be involved in a mission without ever leaving your home: and an ongoing reminder that there are people who would die for what we so easily take for granted.
Some examples of items our Food Buddies donate include:
Peanut Butter/Mixed Nuts
Dried milk
Protein Powders/Meal Replacement Powders
Multivitamins (adults and kids)
Vitamins C, D3 and Zinc
Cold and Allergy medicine
Anti-diarrheal and Antacid medication
Ibuprofen/Acetaminophen
